We've heard great critical acclaim from the foster and adoptive families who were  amongst the hundreds of audience members at our production of A HAUNTED NIGHT IN THE LIBRARY performed with 50 children and teens and 4 adults.

SAFF's Executive Director portrayed Marley the Ghost from the Dicken's Classic A CHRISTMAS CAROL.. " I had so much fun with the kids! They are so talented! Thank you Fascinating Rhythms School for the Performing Arts!"

22 teens - including foster care - performed 3 performances to audiences at Nightingale Hall. The drama IN OUR OWN BACKYARD focused on school violence.

ABC  TV CHANNEL 8 covered the production and interviewed SAFF's Executive Director as well as a teen and the author of the play as the final performance was dedicated to the tragic shooting at an Oregon Community College. Additionally, the teens with SAFF's ED just completed their 28th consecutive radio broadcast.

FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAM

Picture
SAFF is so excited to announce that a University of Nevada-Reno fraternity of Hispanic males is now partnering with SAFF's new Financial Literacy Program.

A new web site has been designed along with a 1:30 second video, a 6 minute video, and a 46 minute video to guide our students, tutors, mentors, and coaches.

A major public event - to be performed in front of a live Reno audience and broadcast live on the web, THINK RICHLY: LEARN TO EARN will be presented Friday Jan 15, 2016 at The Center for Spiritual Living on Lakeside Drive.

Teens and adults will be invited to this exciting event featuring a presentation on how our lifestyles are connected to how we value money, and will address issues that affect our teens such as identity theft, loan sharks, scholarships, credit cards, etc. etc. The presentation will feature SAFF's Executive Director along with a multitude of entertainers.

_Present will be SAFF's UNR academic tutors, financial literacy mentors, financial literacy coaches - all ready and able to continue working with our teens to break the cycle of poverty! Did you know that 30% of those victimized by identity theft are former foster care youth?
